Nepal skipper Paras Khadka smashed 86 runs off just 50 balls to guide Nepal to a convenient win over Malaysia in one of their T20I bilateral series. Nepal defeated Malaysia by 7 wickets with 9 balls remaining.
In the match played at Kinrara Oval Cricket Ground in Malaysia, the home side won the toss and elected to bat first. Their opener Sayed Aziz was bowled out by Sompal in the second over of the first inning. However, the Malaysia side rose up from that over and made quick runs.
Coming into the bat, Nepal started with a new set of openers, the skipper Paras Khadka and Pradeep Airee. However, this pair couldn’t last long. Pradeep Airee lost his wicket in the 5th over with 29 runs on the board. Then came Gyanendra Malla but could only make 7 runs. Rohit Kumar Poudel made just 5 runs before being caught lbw. Pradeep Airee had made 8 runs. However, with wickets going down on the one end, Paras Khadka standstill in the other.
Sarad Veswakar remained not out on 16 runs with Skipper Khadka was unbeaten at 86 runs. His brilliant knock included 8 fours and 5 sixes.
Nepal will play the last T20I of the series tomorrow at the same venue.
