Nepal skipper Paras Khadka, along with Pradeep Airee is all set to open Nepal’s batting line up as Nepal is looking forward to the ICC World T20 in Australia next year.
Nepali team had already left for Malaysia to play a couple of T20I matches before leaving for Singapore for the second round of the Qualifiers. With comparatively weaker opponents, Nepal is already the favorites to go through the next round. However, there are a lot of aspects that the Nepali team had to consider.
The evergreen problem , the openers. Nepal’s opening partnership problem has been the problem in all formats, be it ODI or T20s. With new coach Umesh Patwal joining the Nepali side, he had tested two pairs of openers. The one is Paras- Pradeep pair and the other is Gyanendra- Amit.
In the training matches, Paras- Pradeep pair worked fine. Therefore, Patwal is almost certain to use this pair in upcoming matches.
Before participating in the Qualifier matches, the Nepali cricket team is set to play a T20i series against Malaysia at Kinrara Oval cricket ground in Malaysia. In a press release by Malaysia Cricket Association, the series will be on the 13th of July and 14th.
The second round of the qualifiers begins from 20th July with Nepal playing their first match on 23rd against Qatar. Malaysia, Singapore, and Kuwait are the other nations qualified for the round.
