Referee refused to use VAR during Brazil vs Argentina

The reports claim that the match referee of Argentina vs Brazil semi-final match on Tuesday had refused to use VAR in two possible penalties.

It is learnt that one of the VAR official, Uruguayan Leodan Gonzalez has advised the match referee, Zambrano to have a look at the VAR but he refused the both times. Both the times, it was quite a certain penalty but the match referee was not in mood to hand spot kick to the Argentina side.

The first incident was Sergio Aguero being tipped by Dani Alves inside the box while the ball was about to release towards him. The other incident was during a corner kick. Arthur looked to be deliberately pushing Argentine defender Nicolas Otamending, while he was attempting a header.
